POD Speedzone Release Date: 11/24/00 Status: Announced Developer: Ubi Soft Publisher: Ubi Soft Genre: Racing Game Summary The sequel to POD is finally here. The name of the game is futuristic racing, although the vehicles here are more like hovercrafts than cars. Highly destructive weapons and 8 player online play round out the game's features. It's Kinda Like... POD, naturally. The Buzz This could go either way. It has some good ideas, but the version shown at E3 was kinda rought. There's some good track design, though. Trivia The original POD was the first PC game to be "MMX Enhanced"; that is, it took advantage of the new MMX instructions built into Intel's latest processors at the time.
