    POD Speedzone

Release Date: 11/24/00
Status: Announced
Developer: Ubi Soft
Publisher: Ubi Soft
Genre: Racing

  • Game Summary
  • The sequel to POD is finally here. The name of the game is futuristic racing, although the vehicles here are more like hovercrafts than cars. Highly destructive weapons and 8 player online play round out the game's features.

  • It's Kinda Like...
  • POD, naturally.

  • The Buzz
  • This could go either way. It has some good ideas, but the version shown at E3 was kinda rought. There's some good track design, though.

  • Trivia
  • The original POD was the first PC game to be "MMX Enhanced"; that is, it took advantage of the new MMX instructions built into Intel's latest processors at the time. The improvements were negligable.

  • Online Play
  • Yes. 8 players, network-compatible with the PC version. Or so we're told.

  • Links
  • Ubi Soft
