Well, so far, I'm only level 101 after two days of trying to get over
103,000 exp to level up. I bought my license for the online thing, I go
online, and it says "Incorrect access key. Please confirm and try
again." Sega should answer my email any minute now but other than the
fact that I can't get online, I love PSO V.2. The only weapons that do
damage are my Holy Ray (between 0-50, depending on monster) and my
Heaven Punisher's special (between 66-220, depending on monster). After
two days, I'm on the mines. The ultimate modeof De Rol Le (called Dal
Ra Lie in ultimate) is so hard. Took me three tries to beat him. Also,
the ice dragon really moves fast. I have to circle him and he always on
my butt. lol. The mines are so much fun but their hard. Great game
offline! I'll let you know what it's like online once I get it fixed.
Hey Pat, thanks for sharing your PSO V2 experience. Don't sell yourself short, level 101 is a pretty high character level! You did the correct thing by contacting Sega right away about your access key. If anyone else is having problems with their access key. Head on over to Sega's website or call 1-800-USA-SEGA (872-7342) for Dreamcast customer support. Have fun with your game. :)

I cant connect because I have a "wrong" serial number and I did put it in correct, it seems that the servers are having problems and my friend tried connecting and he succesfully did but in about two hours. I haven't played online because of this error. What should I do?? I wanna play soccer, challenge mode, and all the new modes but I cant.
What you will have to do is contact Sega's Dreamcast customer support at (same as above)1-800-USA-SEGA (872-7342). Or hit their website. Hopefully they will be able to reset your serial number, and you will online in no time. Thanks for the letter.

i picked up V2 thursday. well, funny time for the game to be released, a day
before the servers go down for 2. so, i couldnt play at all on thurs.
because at 11 EST it still wasnt working. i thought it was my fault it
wouldnt connect but i called sega and they told me they were *still* down.
the next day i couldnt play for various reasons, but on saturday i played a
LOT. i've found 2 "v2 rares" already, although neither are very rare.
anyways, my story doesnt sound like much, but i got on with the BBA, and i
heard many people still cant get theirs to work with it.
The PSO servers were down during the launch of PSO V2, even though you couldn't get online it ended up being a great time to build up your character offline. So players new to PSO could get the feel for the game without being tempted to play online right away. ;)
That is great that you found some cool rare items Jeff, keep searching there are many more hidden treasures to find. As for the Broadband Adapter (BBA), you now have thousands of jealous fans that want to get that little accessory off your hands. When the BBA went on sale at Sega's online store it was in high demand and sold out very quick. So after Sega stopped selling the product, many DC owners were left out to dry. You can find a BBA at online auctions, but it will cost at least $100-$130. Congrats getting it to work with PSO V2!

Only having PSO 2 for a short time I have discovered that the offline mode
is useless. Online seems to be exactly the same except for the monsters are
different. I have only played in Ultimate mode and it is very VERY hard! I
have not seen many new weapons but the ones that I have seen were cool.
There are many new features added into PSO V2 that are still out there for you to check out: New levels, Battle Mode, Challenge Mode, Go Go Ball and much more. Also you can break out of the level 100 cap and make your journey to reach level 200!. So there is plenty more for you to discover. Have fun Michael!

Subject: About the PSO game
Just a Quick question, I was thinking about possibly purchasing a Dreamcast soon, the reason of course would be to play online games, from your review it seems that the game PSO is a very worthwhile game. My one concern is that while I am at college, they run a T3 Lan, you never mentiond if this game was compatiable with a T3, or Ethernet.
On another note I would also like to get your oppinon, do you think the Dreamcast will be around long enough to produce another fantastic online game?
Thank you
First to answer your ethernet question. Yes it is possible to get PSO V2 to work with a Broadband Adapter, but it is very hard to find one for a cheap price, as Sega doesn't officially support or sell the product anymore. But if you wan't to shell out the cash at an online auction, you can get a BBA for atleast $100-$130. I must note though, the BBA isn't supported by all games. Infact it's only supported by a handfull of titles.
The most recent online Dreamcast games are Ooga Booga, NFL 2K2, PSO V2, Outtrigger, and much more. Currently there is only one more online game to be released for the dreamcast, and that's NBA 2K2. But for $79 you can't go wrong. The Dreamcast is the best console deal anywhere. You get a 128-bit Internet ready console that has an established software library with over 150 games, featuring classics like Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Shenmue, Sonic Adventure 2, Soul Calibur, Rayman 2, Tony Hawk 2, and many more. Most of these games are priced as low at $19.99!!
Even though Dreamcast software will eventually stop being made, that doesn't mean that it isn't a good system. The Dreamcast is a great system! As Retrovertigo, one of our writers, says: "the Dreamcast will be the only dominating online console in early 2002, even though it will technically be dead". What he means by that is the PlayStation 2 will only have 1 major online game (THPS 3), and the Xbox won't have its online network available yet. So the Dreamcast will be the console to play if you wan't online gaming, until we get further into 2002.
Hope this helps you make your decision. :)
That concludes another great edition of the PlanetDreamcast Mailbag. Next week we will be back with more answers to your letters. Be sure to keep sending them. As always, you can send your letters to this address. Maybe you will see your letter in the next edition of the PlanetDreamcast Mailbag. Have fun! :)
