Sonic Adventure 2
The heroes and villains of Sonic Adventure 2. - by Mr. Domino

E3 Logo

Sonic Adventure 2 was shown in more detail at E3 with a playable version available for the playing and such. The E3 demo was more involved than the one which was bundled with Phantasy Star Online, including new stages and the split-screen versus mode.

Sonic Adventure 2 will have six playable characters divided into two groups: Hero and Dark. The Hero team is comprised of Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails, while the Dark team features Shadow, Dr. Robotnik, and Rouge. Each character has a specific rival which will focus on a certain style of gameplay as in the first game.

Shadow and Rouge are the new members added to Yuji Naka's series to help implement the game's "Hero vs. Villian" concept. Shadow is the evil version of Sonic while Rouge fills in for Knuckles' foe. Sonic Adventure 2 definitely focuses more on action this time around with its 30 levels of amazing, 60 frames-per-second graphics. The game also finally brings a second player into the action with three different modes of vertical split-screen versus play. There are also a ton of new mini-games, chao, and exciting additions such as kart racing to keep things interesting.

Sonic Adventure 2 is due out this June on a Dreamcast near you. Check out our Sonic Adventure 2 preview for old information if that's your bag.
